Boeing is excited to announce the launch of our Assembly Mechanic Apprenticeship program in St. Louis, designed to equip aspiring mechanics with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Boeing Defense, Space & Security is delivering the most digitally advanced, simply and efficiently produced, and intelligently supported solutions to help warfighters solve their toughest challenges. These products deliver front-line capabilities for today's warfighter and define the future of the air wing with fixed-wing strike, training, autonomy and crewed-uncrewed teaming. Employees are participants in a full-time company sponsored on-the-job training program. The Assembly Mechanic Apprentice program helps learners develop the skills needed to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Assignments are structured to provide learning experiences that lead to a course completion within a skill area. The apprenticeship has 4 pathways: Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Composites. The Composites cohort is a 12-week program. Upon completion the candidate will have successfully demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work of a Composites Assembly Mechanic, to include, interpreting model-based drawings and blueprints, following work instructions, working with high-performance materials like fiberglass, carbon fiber, and epoxy resins, honeycomb and identifying all required hand tools, parts and equipment to accomplish defect-free work and ensuring structural integrity and safety. This involves understanding composite layup techniques, curing processes, and surface finishing, with a focus on quality control and precision. What is a Technical Apprenticeship? Boeing Technical Apprenticeship Program (BTAP), is an official registered apprenticeship recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL). It is an earn and learn program including formal learning, on-the-job experiences, and mentorship. Every graduate of a Registered Apprenticeship program will receive a nationally-recognized credential from the DOL. What makes a great Technical Apprentice? A degree is not required to apply for most technical apprenticeship programs.
