The Assistant General Manager Role at Snooze

As second in command in the Front of House\n(FOH), the Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a key role in ensuring that\nSnooze culture shines bright in all aspects of the business. You must hold\nvital our beliefs in Craveable food and beverage, fun ambiance and exceptional\nservice. The AGM controls daily and weekly operations by overseeing and\ncoordinating the planning, organization, training and leadership necessary to\nachieve our objectives. Despite core focuses being in the FOH, the AGM is\nresponsible for providing leadership and culinary expertise within all restaurant\noperations goals. These goals range from sales, operational costs, Snoozer\nretention, food and beverage quality, cleanliness and sanitation,\nsustainability and most importantly, guest service and satisfaction.

The Position Specifics

  • Completely understand\nall Snooze policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and\nexpectations.
  • Ensure that all\nGuests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, courteous and\nexceptional service.
  • Be a role model,\nfacilitator, and able Snoozer in nearly all hourly positions in the Heart of\nHouse (Kitchen) and Front of House roles.
  • Monitor and\nevaluate food and beverage quality to ensure that all items meet Snooze's\nstandards for taste, presentation, and temperature before they are served to\nguests.
  • Achieve Snooze\nobjectives in sales, service, safety and sanitation, facility maintenance and\nfood and beverage quality by effectively training Snoozers and providing a\npositive, productive working environment.
  • Control cash and\nother receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in\naccordance with Snooze policies and procedures.
  • Assist the management team in making\nemployment and termination decisions including interviewing, hiring, training,\nevaluating, reviewing, and coaching Snoozers as appropriate.
  • Continually strive to\ndevelop all hourly Snoozers in managerial and professional skills, building\nSnooze’s future leadership.
  • Assist the General Manager and Head Chef\nin preparing all required paperwork, including inventory, par sheets, ordering,\nforms, reports, performance\nreviews and schedules.
  • Be prepared to\ncontrol and monitor the purchasing, receiving, inventory, and cost management\nof all food and beverage products.
  • Control labor cost by assisting in\nscheduling based upon forecasted sales, positions needed, and proper time\nmanagement.
  • Be knowledgeable of\nrestaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and\nconsistent corrective action for any and all violations of Snooze policies,\nrules and procedures.
  • Fully understand and\ncomply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain\nto health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and Guests.
  • Facilitate the flow of service from the\nkitchen to the Front of House with the capability of running the Expo window while\nadhering to Snooze ticket time standards.
  • Support with opening and closing\nprocedures of the Front of House and Heart of House (Kitchen) following\nSnooze’s “Open to Close” guidelines.
  • Identify and recruit outstanding talent\nby conducting effective and fair interviews to elevate and build Snooze’s team\nof hourly talent.
  • Help to create a fun,\nsafe and rewarding work environment for all Snoozers.

  • Must be 21 years of age and authorized\nto work in the United States
  • Have knowledge of\nfood, beverage, and service, generally involving 2+ years of restaurant-related experience in an hourly or managerial position.
  • Possess excellent\nbasic math skills and can operate a cash register and Point of Sale system.\nMust also be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of\nthe restaurant’s trading area.
  • Be able to work in a\nstanding position for long periods (up to 10 hours) and be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift a maximum\nof 50 pounds.
  • Must have the stamina\nto work 45 to 55 hours per week.
