Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant

The Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant provides anesthesia services at VCU Medical Center for all age groups.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:

• Current and valid license to practice in Virginia or eligible to obtain.
• Anesthesiologist Assistant accreditation and certification through the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:

• Current and valid license to practice in Virginia or eligible to obtain.
• Anesthesiologist Assistant accreditation and certification through the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)

Experience REQUIRED:

• None required

Experience PREFERRED:

• Academic health care experience
• One (1) year within the specialty practice area

Education/training REQUIRED:

• Minimum Training and Education: Evidenced successful completion of Anesthesiologist Assistant program certified by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants

Education/training PREFERRED:

• N/A

Independent action(s) required:

• Must possess knowledge of local, federal and state laws and regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards related to position's chief objective and demonstrate aptitude for compliance with VCUHS policies, procedures and customer services philosophy.
