General Responsibilities:
Working from drawing requirements; Plan machining processes, specify tooling and fixturing requirements, generate machine programs, and participate in process improvements throughout the life of each program.
Specific Duties: \n - Study blueprints to develop machining processes that meet cost, efficiency, and quality requirements.
\n - Review existing processes for potential improvements, accommodate drawing revisions, and react to lessons learned on previous runs.
\n - Work with Engineers and Designers to address manufacturing issues.
\n - Specify and design fixturing for Mills and/or Lathes, and machine tending automation. Create machining processes for fixturing and oversee fabrication as needed.
\n - Select and specify cutting tools, working with Distributors, Manufacturers, and in-house Toolmakers when needed.
\n - Use CAM software to generate NC programs for Mill/Turn Lathes and/or Horizontal Mills.
\n - Create all setup materials, including Setup Sheets, Drawing Markups, and process notes.
\n - Work with Machinists and Inspectors to implement machining processes and continuously improve them.
\n - Maintain programs and process documentation to ensure it meets all data integrity requirements.
\n - Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of CAM software and other tools and practices used in support of machine programming.
\n - Participate in routing development, part cost estimating, capital purchases, and new product design development.
\n - Participate in activities to support successful achievement of department and business goals in accordance with Hoshin plans and other directives.
\n - Actively participate in Lean and Six Sigma activities while helping to incorporate important company objectives such as Single Piece Flow and Value Stream concepts.
\n - Participate in training and development of other employee's skills.

Qualifications: Required Skills:
\n - Approachable with excellent communication skills.
\n - Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and demanding situations.
\n - Capable of developing and programming complex Lathe processes including live tooling.
\n - Capable of selecting, evaluating, and specifying tooling for production machining.
\n - Capable of selecting or designing work-holding and fixturing.
\n - Well versed in CAD/CAM, Esprit preferred but open to other software.
\n - Solid understanding of GD&T and Metrology practices.
\n - Focused on continuous improvement in a Lean/Six-Sigma environment.
\n - Encourages a Team approach to projects.
\n
\n \n - Willing to work overtime as needed.
\n

Desired skills:
\n - Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
\n - Experience with implementing and managing projects at group or shop levels.
\n - Experience with Design for Manufacturing and DMAIC methodology.
\n - Process Estimation and Return on Investment analysis.
\n - Experience with gear and shaft manufacturing.
\n - Experience with robotics and production automation.
\n

Compensation: $24.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience. Position is hourly and eligible for overtime
