Job Description
What to Expect As a Construction Superintendent at Tesla, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of manufacturing facilities. You will serve as the primary coordinator of field operations, working cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
What You'll Do - Lead the successful execution of both contracted and self-performed construction projects
- Develop and manage project schedules, identifying critical paths and addressing any roadblocks
- Create and maintain site logistics and execution plans
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- Direct field work, track changes, and provide leadership within project teams
- Work closely with engineering teams to resolve design issues promptly
- Ensure installations meet end-user requirements and adhere to quality standards
What You'll Bring - Degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Ideally, 7+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to effectively present information
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects) able to identify and implement the best method to communicate or plan a project and scopes
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and managing changes to construction design documents with ability to provide constructability feedback
- Ability to travel to various project locations as needed up to 50% often on short notice
