~16 and/or 24-hour shifts
Clinical Details
Anesthetizing Sites: 12 ORs/9 NORA
Number of Surgical Cases per Year: 9,000
Anesthesia Model: 9 MDs / 16 APPs
MD:CRNA Ratio: 1:3, care team model
Physicians do 99% supervision; self-performing cases is uncommon
Physicians present for induction and emergence, participate in post-op care, and pre-op evaluation
Hands on practice
Types of Cases: Level II Trauma, Ortho, Spine, Vascular, limited Neuro, Endo, EP Lab
No OB or Transplants
Trauma Call: In-house call shift starts at 3pm and runs to 7am
MDs will have a CRNA for general OR/Trauma/IR cases
Post-call day off is optional
~ EMR: Medaxion for anesthesia charting, Meditech for orders and reviewing patient records
