Job Summary

The Director of Project Management reports to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees the Project Management Office (PMO). This role works with multiple departments across the organization to ensure company-wide projects have appropriate prioritization, scoping, timelines, coordination, approvals, communication, and implementation to successful delivery.

Essential Functions

1. Appropriately define project and personnel needs.
2. Determine escalation, management, and resolution strategies to deliver projects on scoped timelines.
3. Ensures the organization’s strategic plans are a focus of the PMO’s execution.
4. Manages enterprise-wide project/program management practices, governance standards, processes, training, and metrics, as well as a central project intake process for the company.
5. Directs the company’s portfolio of projects, ensuring all projects within the portfolios/programs are delivered on time, within scope, within budget and to an agreed quality.
6. Oversees business case development of new projects and runs monthly project prioritization meeting with Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
7. Leads all steering committee meetings with guidance on issues (and resolutions) along with accurate reporting of project details.
8. Interacts with other key stakeholders (i.e. IT/Business Systems/Training) to ensure they are aligned and appropriately resourced to support PMO projects.
9. Other duties as necessary related to Project Management functions.

• (A) Demonstrated success working in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities with the ability to work both on a team (as member and/or leader) and independently to deliver results.
• (S) Experience in interacting with Executives to drive strategy and outcomes.
• (S) Driven, motivated, self-starter who does not need daily direction or coaching
• (S) Comfortable in a complex, fast paced, and dynamic environment.
• (A) Excellent speaking and writing abilities to make presentations to prospective targets, executives, lenders, board members, and investors.
• (A) Ability to partner, work under short timelines and sometimes ambiguous circumstances.
• (K) Experience and understanding of navigating all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities, though this position will likely require building out a full Enterprise Project Management team through continued company growth.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• In office environment
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Overtime is common in this position

Travel

• Expected to travel up to 20% per year to regional facilities, conferences & training seminars, vendor offices, and M&A integration sites around the country.

Education and Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree, Master of Business Administration or Master of Project Management degree preferred. Combined experience in this type of job role of 5 or more years with education is desirable.
• Project Management or Business Analyst certifications (such as PMP) preferred.
• Proficiency in technology platforms in the functions of configuration, reporting, dashboards, and data management.

• Experience in M&A terminology and process a plus.
