Role Summary

This highimpact position leads the Vaccines RealWorld Evidence (RWE) and Epidemiology group with a focus on adult respiratory viral vaccines (COVID, RSV). The director will design, execute, and disseminate RWE studies to inform vaccine recommendations, utilization, and future vaccine development. The role requires deep expertise in RSV and/or COVID19 disease and epidemiologic methods and involves managing scientific aspects of longterm projects across multiple Pfizer functions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead observational and interventional studies evaluating vaccinepreventable disease burden, effectiveness, and impact, including postapproval commitments for regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure highquality methods in pre and postlicensure settings.
  • Codevelop RWE protocols with crossfunctional asset teams (medical evidence strategist, biostatistics, clinical affairs).
  • Coordinate crossfunctional teams to create rigorously designed RWE studies.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data for stakeholders.
  • Guide appropriate data types, datasets, and methodology, coordinating RWE project execution with analytic resources.
  • Act as the RWE subject matter expert for the Vaccines franchise and lead projects independently.
  • Integrate RWE into strategic plans and identify external data partnership opportunities.
  • Oversee data procurement activities (landscape assessments, due diligence, contract development).
  • Advise on feasibility assessments for appropriate internal/external realworld data sources.
  • Document all requests and track progress toward project completion, metrics, and business goals.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Epidemiology or related field; minimum of 4 years of experience for MDs, 5+ for PhDs/PharmDs, 7+ for Masters/MPH.
  • Expertise in vaccine or viral respiratory disease epidemiology with endtoend project experience.
  • Strong observational and noninterventional study methods skills.
  • Effective communication with crossfunctional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Documented ability to manage and lead complex projects to completion.
  • Experience designing and executing noninterventional (NI) studies, producing clinical study reports.
  • Experience with RSV adult and/or COVID19 epidemiology, clinical registries, patientgenerated health data, unstructured clinical data, and other health data sources.
  • Understanding of global regulatory guidance for RWE use in submissions.
  • Willingness to travel 1015% for meetings and conferences.
  • Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking).
  • Candidate demonstrates breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including influence, coaching, and business impact.

Desired Skill Set

  • Knowledge of vaccine development, infectious disease, host/pathogen interactions, immunology.
  • Understanding global regulatory guidance for RWE use.
  • Knowledge of global HTAs and payers RWE acceptance and valuebased agreements.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Spotfire, Looker).
  • Experience integrating RWE in early clinical development.
  • Experience using RWE to drive valuebased care and contracting.

Location Assignment

This is a hybrid role requiring you to live within commuting distance and work onsite an average of 2.5 days per week.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. This position is eligible for a 20.0% target bonus and participation in Pfizers sharebased longterm incentive program. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, retirement savings contributions, paid vacation and holidays, medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage, and paid caregiver/parental leave.
