We are looking for an Inby teammate to work in one of the continuous mining sections of our Blue Creek mine located in Berry, Alabama. Mining positions may be required to work various shifts, rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. As an Inby team member, you will be responsible for performing various tasks in the underground coal mine, such as setting roof supports, installing ventilation devices, loading and unloading supplies, and assisting other team members. You will work closely with your foreman and follow his directions at all times. You will also need to operate diverse types of equipment, such as roof bolters, shuttle cars, scoops and continuous miners, depending on the assigned task and location. You will be expected to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include following all applicable State and Federal safety rules and regulations, cleaning and inspecting mine areas, equipment, and tools for hazards and defects, safely operating mining equipment and machinery, performing gas tests, pre-operation equipment checks, ventilation tasks, and participating in daily safety meetings. Candidates must have at least one year of experience working in an underground coal mine, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment. The role requires physical ability to stand, sit, walk for extended periods, wear protective equipment, bend, stoop, climb stairs and ladders, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, lift weights up to 75 pounds, and work in extreme conditions including dust, mud, noise, and confined spaces.
