Key responsibilities of a fence installer:
- Site preparation: Measuring and marking the installation area, identifying property boundaries, checking for underground utilities.
- Post installation: Digging post holes, mixing concrete, setting fence posts, ensuring proper alignment and level.
- Panel installation: Cutting and attaching fence panels or pickets to the posts and rails.
- Gate installation: Installing and adjusting fence gates.
- Material handling: Unloading and transporting fencing materials to the job site.
- Quality control: Inspecting the fence for proper installation, ensuring it is level and secure.
- Clean up: Removing debris and leftover materials from the worksite.
Required skills:
- Physical ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, dig holes, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic carpentry skills: Knowledge of measuring, cutting, and attaching wood or other materials.
- Hand and power tool proficiency: Operating tools like shovels, post hole diggers, drills, saws, and levels.
