An opportunity for a starting designer in the Texas Big Bend, working for Roger Black, a well-known editorial designer ( Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles Times, the first MSNB.com, etc.
Inquiries accepted from potential interns, trainees, as well as for starting designers. Term: Flexible, starting at six months. Anyone who would like to take a good look at the last 50 years of media design . . . and apply it to important new projects.
Location: Near Marathon, Texas, which is near Alpine and Marfa. The studio is located in an AIA-award-winning building near the high-desert Housetop Mountains.
The job will cover a variety of duties:
Start date: 1 July 2025.
Compensation: On contract or on salary (with health insurance). ~$30,000/year, including nearby housing. Will need a sturdy vehicle.
Workplace: This is not a remote position, but not every days will be spent at the studio---perhaps just one or two days per week.
