The Hospice Director of Business Office Solutions is responsible for modeling the 3 Company values of Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence, and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Hospice Director of Business Office Solutions is accountable for teaching the Business Office Manager and Business Office Coordinator related operational activities of the Program in accordance with hospice policy and procedure, including but not limited to, billing for reimbursement, payroll, and administrative quality improvement. S/he is responsible for applying the rules and regulations of state and federal regulatory agencies and other certified agencies.Position Specific Responsibilities include training new Business Office Managers, Business Office Coordinators, Admission Coordinators, and Team Coordinators using role-specific materials. Training covers use of EMR and other systems for patient and billing support, maintaining financial records, processing billing batches and claims, working with long-term care facilities’ billing departments, maintaining billing accuracy for pharmacy and medical supplies, ordering office supplies and equipment, onboarding and orientation of new colleagues, payroll, personnel file management, systems for managing patient care and billing, records retention, Workday usage for tracking licenses and contracts, payroll processing, communication liaison with HR and Payroll, personnel requisition and candidate communication, preparation for regulatory reviews, troubleshooting office and technology equipment, maintaining inventory records, reviewing and documenting census changes, and other assigned duties.Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred; at least five years of experience in office management or related experience required.Skills: Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic and percentages; language skills including reading, analyzing, interpreting business and technical documents, writing reports and correspondence, and effective verbal communication; ability to understand, read, write, and speak English; embraces hospice philosophy.Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, visual acuity including close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
