Description INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN I FIRST REVIEW MAY 23, 2025 - OPEN UNTIL FILLED $4,026 - $5,099 MONTHLY $48,306 - $61,193 ANNUALLY 12 MONTHS / 40 HOURS PER WEEK POSITION Under the direction of an administrator or manager, provides basic technical support to administration, management, faculty, staff, and students; maintains workstations and classroom/laboratory equipment; performs a variety of technical duties including but not limited to printers, peripheral hardware, and telecommunication equipment.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Information Systems Technician I serves as the primary technical resource for student laptops; provides a variety of computer laptop troubleshooting and support to the student population throughout the college community.
Key Duties & Responsibilities The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Essential responsibilities are designated by *.
- Provides first-level technical support to administrators, managers, faculty, staff, and students Receives, responds to, and resolves requests for technical support as a member of the Helpdesk services team; receives and works on incoming service ticket requests in accordance with the established Service Level Agreement(s) (SLA); updates service ticket with information, status, and resolution related to the reported issue; partners with vendor support teams to resolve issues, when needed; escalates issues and service requests to additional technical resources, as needed. *
- Updates and maintains District/college, administrator, management, faculty, and staff workstations and student-issued laptops; deploys images; installs and configures applications; applies updates and upgrades to operating systems and applications as needed or when required; resolves operating system and program application issues. *
- Updates and maintains audio/visual equipment including but not limited to projectors, projector screens, microphones, cameras, and connecting equipment through installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. *
- Creates, maintains, modifies, disables, and deletes end user accounts; assists clients with password resets, assignment and reassignment related to group membership(s). *
- Updates and maintains student-issued laptops; ensures standard images are updated and implemented according to the defined SLA. *
- Maintains data collaboration tools such as network-based file shares, audio/visual conference, email, and cloud-based collaboration systems; creates user accounts, when required. *
- Enables and verifies end user security and access to requested resources; troubleshoots and resolves access issues; escalates issues as needed. *
- Maintains computer hardware and peripheral equipment, such as printers, scanners, and copiers; installs and configures devices to allow printing, scanning, and faxing; performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting; reports additional maintenance and repair needs to appropriate staff. *
- Maintains telecommunication systems; install and configures phones for employees within public areas; assists employees with configuring features such as voicemail and call forwarding. *
- Assists with the management and procurement of technology resources; properly stores, inventories, and maintains an asset database. *
- Performs related duties that support the overall objective of the position.
Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Associate degree with coursework in information technology or related discipline: AND
- One (1) year of experience in a computer support or helpdesk environment;
OR - Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this classification, employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; talk or hear in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel, operate personal computers and other standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms; bend at the waist, stoop, crawl, kneel, or crouch to install cables and equipment; .
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to distinguish basic shades and colors, and the ability to adjust focus; requires enough hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to make small component connections; read technical documents and instructions and align small components.
Employees are frequently required to walk and stand and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

SELECTION PROCESS After the preliminary screening, selected candidates will be invited to the campus for an initial interview with the Search Committee. Videoconference interviews (in lieu of an in-person initial interview) will be offered. Candidates to be interviewed will be selected from applicants who most closely meet the minimum and desired qualifications. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. The Search Committee will recommend finalists to the Superintendent/President for a final interview.
