Coeur Mining is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing, precious metals producer with four wholly-owned operations: the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. About the Job:

The Geology Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work alongside industry experts, contributing to the development of cutting-edge mining projects. As a Geology Intern at our mine site, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled geologists and contribute to our mineral exploration and extraction efforts. You will be an integral part of our geology team, working on exciting projects that impact our mining operations.

Responsibilities:

• Fieldwork : Assist in geological fieldwork activities, including rock sampling, geological mapping, and data collection at the mine site.
• Sample Analysis : Help process and analyze geological samples using laboratory equipment and software tools, contributing to ore body characterization and resource estimation.
• Data Management : Maintain and organize geological databases, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for geological modeling and analysis.
• Reporting : Prepare reports and presentations summarizing geological findings, contributing to project evaluations and decision-making processes.
• Collaboration : Work closely with senior geologists and cross-functional teams, including mining engineers and environmental specialists, to support mine planning and development.
• Safety : Promote and adhere to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in geology or a related field.
• Work in all conditions and environments, varying amount of time on the job is outdoors.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily.
• Strong academic performance in relevant coursework.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience using geological software tools and data analysis (e.g., GIS, Surfer, geological modeling software).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following safety protocols.

Additional Information:

• Hourly Rate: $27.50
• Company sponsored housing
• Bus service from Lovelock and Winnemucca
