Job Summary:

The Pump Technician role is to ensure all pumps are in optimal working condition, making regular rounds to check pumps, airlines, and water levels. The Natural Gas Pump Technician position requires a strong work ethic and the resilience to perform in demanding field conditions, including exposure to odors, extreme temperatures, and rugged terrain in and around the landfill. All duties performed must follow safety guidelines and have a safety-first mindset. This role, in addition to the standard shift, may be on-call for upset conditions/emergencies.

 

**You must live within 45 minutes of assigned site/area to be considered for this position.**

 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow established field maintenance procedures and design standards.
  • Collect and log pump counts; upload data to designated systems.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic well pump operations.
  • Conduct vacuum surveys.
  • Clean and repair pneumatic well pumps.
  • Install pneumatic well pumps.
  • Perform well sounding and related diagnostics.
  • Assist with general field operations and team support.
  • Safely and correctly use hand and power tools.
  • Understand and troubleshoot field processes and equipment.
  • Read and interpret field maps and understand Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS) components.
  • Perform pump round duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment safely.
  • Understand and adhere to construction safety protocols.
  • Read, understand, and act in alignment with company mission and values.
  • Provide end-of-day reports with operational details.
  • Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment as needed.
  • Maintain and update:
    1. Data systems.
    2. Microsoft Outlook and communication tools.
  • Identify and report:
    1. Field safety hazards.
    2. Field process issues.
  • Participate in:
    1. Ongoing training and education.
    2. Peer-to-peer training and knowledge sharing.
    3. Innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in shop, storage, and UTV areas.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Loves working outdoors.
  • Does not mind getting dirty.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • No previous experience necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RNG/Landfill experience, Construction/roofing experience, heavy equipment and/or tool handling, mechanical, electrical or hydraulic systems experience is a plus.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must clear Background Check and Drug test.
  • The ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
  • The ability to communicate effectively.
  • The ability to be punctual, dependable, and willing to work long hours if needed is required.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • The ability to work weekdays and weekends in the event of upset conditions.
  • The ability to work overtime and respond to callouts during off hours.
  • The ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency.

 

Compensation details: 20-24 Hourly Wage
