Job Description

Job Description CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an experienced Lead Sound Designer to join our studio in Boston to develop Project Orion - the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. As a Lead Sound Designer, you will be leading Sound Design teams and building alignment with game development teams to create truly breathtaking and immersive soundscapes for our upcoming game. If you’re an experienced and established audio artist with a passion for creating visceral experiences for industry-leading RPGs with relevant leadership skills, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities: Design, implement, and mix immersive, original, and rich sound effects. Lead a team of Sound Designers to create a coherent and innovative sonic experience. Collaborate closely with project Directors, Leads, and Dev Teams on creative direction, technology, and organizational topics. Cooperate closely with Shared Dev Services audio teams (Music, Sound Design, VO, Audio Code) to strengthen alignment and increase efficiency and effectiveness across different time zones. Plan, revise, and track milestones, sprints, and roadmap deliverables. Develop and design innovative audio systems in Unreal Engine 5 and Audiokinetic Wwise middleware. Mentor Sound Designers to improve their skillsets and effectiveness. Partner with Sound Design Manager to evaluate Boston-based team performance. Document and describe performed work. Qualifications 8-10 years of experience in the video game industry, including multiple shipped AAA titles. At least 2 years in an Audio-related Leadership role. Expert use of professional audio production software and techniques. Experience in leading a team of Sound Designers. Exceptional artistic competence. Skilled with mixing in-game and cinematic assets. Cross-discipline communication skills. Great organizational skills. Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and adapt to change. Excellent communication skills: We have a multilingual and multicultural working environment, and the ability to communicate across language and time zone barriers is essential. Nice to have: (Please note that these skills are not required to apply for the position) Experience with Atmos, Surround Sound, 3D Audio, and HRTF. Experience with performance capture. Field and Foley recording sessions planning and execution. Additional Information This job requires working in Boston, US. Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
