Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for general maintenance and janitorial services for Guidance Center of Lea County, Inc. (GCLC) and Humphrey House (HH), and other properties as assigned. Conduct daily cleaning and repair operations to keep facilities operational and professionally presentable. Maintenance operations include external grounds maintenance as seasonally appropriate and necessary to maintain safety. Maintenance and repair services will include minor repairs that do not require outside service technicians or specialized training. Replenish all supplies as needed. Completion of monthly checklists for building and grounds maintenance and vehicle maintenance logs. Position requires ability to lift heavy objects and move furniture. Maintain confidentiality for all information regarding clients, staff, and GCLC obtained as a result of employment at GCLC. All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
LEVEL AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
Directly supervised by the Maintenance Supervisor. Supervision to include regular inspections of the facilities and meetings as necessary to cover needed maintenance items. Expected to be highly self-directed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or high school equivalent is required. Must be able to safely operate hand tools and power tools, as needed, for minor repairs and maintenance. Must comply with all applicable OSHA and other regulatory safety requirements in the operation of such tools. Must be able to operate standard cleaning equipment (vacuums, carpet cleaners, etc.). Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Preference given to applicant with experience in janitorial, maintenance work, construction and/or plumbing. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required. Must pass CYFD/FBI fingerprint clearance check to maintain employment. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record in accordance with GCLC policies and procedures.
