Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and management of our organization’s computer networks and related security systems. This role ensures the efficient, reliable, and secure flow of data and communication across all systems within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, configuration, and management of all network infrastructure, including wired, wireless, and site connectivity.
• Oversee firewall management, implement LAN segmentation, and ensure adherence to security policies and best practices.
• Monitor network health and performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues to maintain optimal functionality.
• Develop and maintain network-related documentation, including scopes of work, diagrams, processes, and test plans.
• Partner with vendors on system functionality, upgrades, and maintenance requirements.
• Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions to enhance network performance.
• Respond on a 24/7 on-call basis as required to address critical network issues and support organizational needs.
• Manage tasks across multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to priorities.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in a Network Engineering role.
• Proficiency with Extreme Networks (Extreme Switching, Wi-Fi, Extreme Cloud IQ).
• Experience with VMware virtual networks and enterprise wireless technologies.
• Strong understanding of firewall policies (Check Point experience preferred.)
• Experience in Network Access Control (NAC), Radius, 802.1x, AD, LDAP, DNS.
• Familiarity with low voltage data cabling and fiber optic design.
• Solid foundation in network design and segmentation (Illumio experience a plus).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects effectively.

Work Schedule: Hybrid remote schedule available following the training period and based on business needs. Standard hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
