Sr. Network Security Engineer II

Complete Description:

The contractor is responsible for the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats.

  1. Analyzing and defining network systems requirements.
  2. Implement solutions.
  3. Plan and track projects and coordinate interagency efforts in the areas of networking, infrastructure, security and inter-operability.
  4. Defining and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure.
  5. Configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, routers, and switches.
  6. Analyzing network workload.
  7. Monitoring network capacity and performance.
  8. Diagnosing and resolving network problems.
  9. Developing network backup and recovery procedures.
  10. Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software.
  11. Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.
  12. Manage the agency's telephony infrastructure including voice terminals, VOiP, voice switching, provisioning, analog lines, ACD and IVR systems.
  13. Implement and enforce the agency's policies and procedures in network and infrastructure management, auditing, inspection, security, disaster recovery, encryption and compliance.
  14. Monitor network infrastructure and systems using tools such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco FMC, SSH, Microsoft Active Directory Tools and Utilities, Microsoft Intune, Kaseya, Cayosoft, RDP, and managing appliances including IDS/IPS devices, firewalls, VMware vCenter, Windows Servers, DHCP, DNS, and other tools as available or necessary.
  15. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Highly Desired Certifications:

  1. Certification in network or system administration is highly desired, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, MCSE, MCSA, or other related and similar certifications.

Qualifications:

  1. Must have knowledge in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), telephony systems; and perform routing network configuration management functions.
  2. Must have knowledge of network standards, protocols, and procedures.
  3. Knowledge in network architecture and topology, including transmissions protocols, broadcasting, switching, control, and management.
  4. Must have knowledge in performing routing networking configuration management functions.
  5. Must have knowledge in network systems management methods including end-to-end systems performance monitoring.
  6. Must have experience with using various tools, utilities and appliances, to perform network management, analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and mitigation.

Skills:

  1. Experienced in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including LANs, WANs and Telephony Systems. Required 4 Years
  2. Experience with network standards, protocols, and procedures. Required 4 Years
