The Brain and Body Program in Chapel Hill is looking to hire a Per Diem Specialty Advanced Practice Provider to join our team.
The Brain and Body Program at UNC provides a comprehensive physical and behavioral health assessment to athletes recently retired from their professional football career, and is a benefit offered to them every 5 years thereafter.
This opening is to support, on a per diem basis, our current program Neurologist who is out of office from time to time. The per diem specialty APP will be part of an interdisciplinary care team consisting of Family medicine, Sports Medicine, Psychiatry, Psychology, Vestibular and Speech Therapy, Audiology, Nutrition, and Imaging. The program is administered over three days and the player patient leaves us with a plan of care and a nurse case manager to connect them to services within their home geography.
Program Hours: currently Neurology holds a Thursday afternoon (1-5p) schedule and this has some potential to shift to a different day if needed.

Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina.
Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.
Professional Experience Requirements:
No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
Demonstrated clinical competency.
Effective leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
Effective interaction to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting.
Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
