Job Description

Savantage Solutions is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join our high-quality team that delivers innovative solutions to our federal clients. The Oracle DBA maintains our proprietary Oracle based financial software product, Altimate ® . The position will support software maintenance of the database and application servers including installation, upgrades, and patching as well as support all Altimate application-related aspects of development, unit testing, integration testing, and production deployment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching of Oracle Fusion Middleware software including Java, WebLogic 12c, WebLogic 14c, Forms/Reports, OID, OAM, OBIEE, ORDS and Oracle Server.
  • Perform installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching for Oracle Database software including ORDS and APEX.
  • Perform application file system and database backup, restore, recovery, replication, and cloning.
  • Monitor and proactively tune up database and application performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues, develop resolution strategies, and address issues timely.
  • Contribute to analysis on objectives such as capacity, availability, scalability, security, data migration, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with other teams, vendors, and customers to ensure project goals and milestones are achieved.
  • Create and maintain Windows and Linux shell scripts.
  • Create and maintain standard operation procedure documentation.
  • Prepare timely Status Reports.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

The candidate must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in database administration and support. 
  • 3+ years of experience in Oracle Fusion Middleware Administration. 
  • 19c, 23ai, and 26ai Database Management System (DBMS) including Multitenant, ORDS, and APEX management.
  • Experience with Oracle APEX application deployment methods.  
  • Experience with Oracle APEX, OID, and OAM SSO configuration. 
  • Experience with Oracle APEX 22.1 and higher version (e.g., APEX 242). 
  • Experience with Oracle ORDS 21.4 and higher version (e.g., ORDS 25.3).
  • Experience with APEX application performance tuning and debugging.
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic server and  server administration.  
  • Experience WebLogic application High Availability configuration.
  • Experience using PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, SQLC, and SQL-Developer tools etc. 
  • Experience with Data Pump, SQL*Loader, and backup and recovery tools and methods such as RMAN utility. 
  • Monitor and tune database performance related issues. 
  • Configure database to meet security requirements, like STIGS or FIPS. 
  • Able to work independently and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgement and decision-making. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Must be a United States (U.S.) Citizen. 
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Windows 2019, Windows 2022, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Red Hat Linux etc.
  • Experience with Web application development using Oracle APEX.
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware Forms and Reports server administration.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Oracle Cloud (OCI) or Amazon Cloud (AWS).
  • Experience DevOps, CI/CD methodologies, and tools like Terraform and Git.
  • Understanding OAM SSO Federation with Microsoft ADFS using SAML is a plus.

Education and Certification

  • Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator (DBA) preferred.
