With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 15 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking a Mass Tort Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess experience in handling asbestos litigation, be detail oriented and have knowledge of civil litigation procedures. Experience with general civil litigation is a plus. Position Description Preparation of legal documents such as depositions and pleadings File documents with courts Summarize cases and prepare reports for attorneys Organization and management of documents, including managing spreadsheets and retrieval systems Act as liaison among various parties including court for scheduling and sharing information Coordinate the collection, review and production of documents and respond to discovery requests Assist with conducting research and investigating facts Assist with trial preparation including assembly of exhibits, witness binders and appendices for depositions and court filings Coordination of large-scale document jobs with Office Services Performs other related duties as assigned Skills/Abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to function well in a high paced environment Knowledge of legal terminology and U.S legal system Aptitude for learning new applications, systems and processes Proficient with electronic court filing Proficient with Microsoft Office365 Proficient with document management systems, iManage preferred Proficient in ShareFile and Kroll preferred Qualifications High school degree or equivalent required; college degree or Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience. Minimum two years substantive experience as a paralegal/legal assistant in a law firm setting Experience in Mass Tort will be highly considered Generous PTO and holiday schedule Paid parental leave 401k plan In compliance with New York Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $68,000 to $80,000. We note the salary information as a general guideline only, as we will consider various factors to determine the offer for this role, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work skills and experience, and education.
