Job Description

A law firm seeks an experienced patent attorney to join its intellectual property team in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on providing clients with tailored legal counsel in various intellectual property matters, particularly patent prosecution. Duties

  • Manage the full scope of patent prosecution, including drafting, filing, and responding to office actions.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing a portable book of business.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in patent prosecution or related intellectual property practice.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client interaction.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Patent Bar).
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
