Overview

Our client, a major PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Services) entity owned by 20 non-profit health plans serving >33 million members and benefits manager of government programs including Medicare and Medicaid, seeks an accomplished  Pharmacist.

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: 100% Remote (Must be able to work Pacific Time hours)

Duration: 6-Month Contract Only

Start Date: Monday, November 3, 2025

Pay Rate: $50 – $55/hour (Depending on Experience)

Schedule:

• Working Days: 5 days/week (coverage required Monday–Sunday)
• Shift Times: Start between 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM  Pacific Time
• Training: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM  Pacific Time (4 weeks, camera required)

Must-Have Requirements:

• PharmD degree; must be a Registered/Licensed Pharmacist in any U.S. state
• Quiet, distraction-free home office environment
• Secure, hard-wired internet connection (LAN cable provided; Wi-Fi not permitted due to PHI regulations)
• Camera required during training and meetings

Job Description:

The Pharmacist will perform prospective and retrospective drug utilization reviews and appeals in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role includes providing clinical drug information, educating providers and staff, and ensuring adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide prior authorization services for formulary drugs
• Develop and implement programs to optimize pharmacy care
• Conduct drug utilization reviews and reimbursement assessments
• Recommend evidence-based medication regimens to providers
• Assist providers with dispensing accuracy and billing compliance
• Collaborate with clinical personnel on treatment guidelines and formulary management
• Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and pharmacy standards of practice
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
• Stay current with pharmacotherapy knowledge through continuing education
• Participate in mandatory on-call rotation as business needs require
• Manage inbound and outbound calls related to medication reviews, prior authorizations, and patient care coordination

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: PharmD
• Licensure: Active and valid Pharmacist License (any U.S. state; must be in good standing)
• Certifications: RPh or PharmD; State Licensure – Pharmacy
