Job Description

Willis Knighton Health and Bossier Orthopedic & Sports Medicine are seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join the team. This Physician Assistant will have both clinic and hospital responsibilities.

  • Diagnosis and Treatment:

    Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs), developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications and physical therapy.
  • Surgical Assistance:

    Assisting orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures, including first assisting and performing delegated surgical tasks.
  • Procedures:

    Performing procedures such as wound care, cast application/removal, and administering injections.
  • Post-operative Care:

    Providing pre-operative and post-operative care and education to patients.
  • Documentation:

    Documenting patient information, treatment plans, and progress in electronic medical records.
  • Collaboration:

    Collaborating with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Patient Education:

    Educating patients and their families about orthopedic conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care.
  • Call Duties:

    Expected to take call and respond to urgent patient needs, including providing support to nurses regarding postoperative patients.
  • Patient Evaluation:

    Taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and assessing patients with musculoskeletal issues.
