The Role At Alchemy, delivering an exceptional developer experience is the cornerstone of our platform. As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in ensuring iterable, seamless, intuitive, and consistent user interfaces across all products and UI surface areas. You'll work on one of the most sophisticated frontend systems in the blockchain ecosystem, architecting new solutions and enhancing existing ones to support millions of developers and end users globally. What You'll Do - Define the vision for the frontend platform infrastructure that powers our developer platform, UI components, and APIs, and guide the team in executing against that vision
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable frontend infrastructure, component libraries, and client-side services
- Lead system design discussions, stand-up meetings, and code reviews focused on frontend architecture and performance
- Develop and enforce best practices for frontend infrastructure, emphasizing high performance, accessibility, and iteration speed
- Collaborate with backend engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions
- Optimize frontend build pipelines, rendering performance, and client-side resource management for global scale
- Drive adoption of modern frontend tooling, frameworks, and practices to enhance developer experience and user satisfaction
What We're Looking For - 10+ years of relevant industry experience in frontend or full-stack development
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core frontend software components (experience with developer platforms or component libraries a plus)
- Ability to solve complex design, performance, accessibility, or scalability challenges in high-throughput, low-latency frontend systems in production
- Proficiency in React (and preferable proficiency in cross-platform client development)
- Proficiency in building scalable frontend infrastructure, including module federation, micro-frontends, or design systems
- Experience with frontend build tools and ecosystems (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Esbuild, or Turbopack)
- Expertise in optimizing web performance (e.g., Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, code splitting) and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience in Cloud Native environments, particularly in AWS, for deploying and managing frontend assets
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to execute new ideas autonomously
- Know how to find the right balance between perfection and shipping quickly
- Curiosity on the leading edge - plays with crypto, the latest in AI, and pushes to unpack black boxes

The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $135,000 - $300,000 annually. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
