Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Process Safety Engineer for our client, a major player in the chemical manufacturing industry. This role supports two critical facilities and offers the chance to lead safety reviews, drive compliance with regulatory standards, and guide continuous improvement in high-hazard environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Safety Reviews (PSRs) and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for new and modified installations.
• Conduct Level A and B incident investigations and document findings.
• Administer the Management of Change (MOC) and Management of Organizational Change (MOOC) programs and associated software.
• Review capital expenditure requests for process safety considerations.
• Act as the site-level expert on methodologies such as LOPA, SIL assessments, and risk analysis.
• Perform P&ID walkthroughs and field audits of new installations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP).
• Support HSE efforts at the site level and contribute to audits of process safety system components.
• Complete additional process safety-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 5–10 years of engineering experience in plant operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading PHAs and HAZOPs.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety tools such as LOPA, fault tree analysis, SIL, and RA/RM.
• Familiarity with PSM and RMP regulatory frameworks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
