Salary: $14.18 HourlyLocation : Wausau, WIJob Type: TemporaryJob Number: 202400400Department: Community DevelopmentDivision: Public AccessOpening Date: 10/03/2024Closing Date: ContinuousFLSA: Non-ExemptPurpose of the Position Participate in all aspects of the production of Government and Public Access Television programs including, but not limited to, live and/or videotape coverage of government meetings, perform various television and video production duties in the Public Access Cable's studio, editing facility, office, and other locations.This position is with the Wausau Area Access Media (WAAM) department. Production Assistants are needed to assist with the production of City, County, and School Board meetings. This position is scheduled to work on an as needed basis with no set schedule. The majority of work is performed Monday through Thursday after 4:30pm. We currently have the greatest need for employees that are open to work the second and fourth Monday's of each month.This position will be posted until filled. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Transport, set up, and operate the necessary equipment, performing the duties of Graphics Engineer, Audio Engineer, VTR Operator, Camera Operator, etc.Maintains the Public Access Cable's studio, editing facility, and office.Provides production assistance to program producers.Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSExperience, familiarity, and comfort with video camera and videotaping, audio equipment, and video equipment of all types.18 years of age or older.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAbility to work well with little or no supervision.Ability to assist individuals and groups in all aspects of the television production process.Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, elected officials, and members of the general public.Ability to work various shifts with minimal notice.Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and work in many environmental conditions.PHYSICAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENTNormal office working conditions with minimal exposure to disagreeable elements. Normal mental and visual attention is required. Minimal physical demand with minimal exposure to workplace hazards. Additional Information ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION:This position is considered temporary/seasonal. Hours will vary week to week; there is no guarantee of minimum amount of hours.
