Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near the beautiful resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a short 10-minute drive to the ocean front. VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization.

Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center currently has a Full-Time Recreation Activity Aide position available. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

The Recreation Activity/Aide Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Job Requirements

The following are the job requirements for the Full-Time Recreation Activity Aide position:

Experience/Education: One (1) year of related experience or equivalent college classes, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: none

Additional Requirements: Completion of all daily job functions and compliance with all regulatory standards.
