JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of role of team :

• This parenting program is to assist families in managing mild to severe behavior problems in children ages 2-5 and developing positive parent-child relationships.
• The desired outcome is to improve parenting skills, child's behavior and relationship.

Summary of position :

• Works directly with children and families in the program to ensure that treatment objectives, evaluations and treatment summaries are individualized and accurate.
• This may include case management services, therapy sessions, liaison services and childcare/school intervention for families.

TYICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIROMENT

• This position typically operates in the office area at C&Y center.
• This position works 40 hours per week in person and during program hours.
• This position will work non-traditional hours due to program being in evening.
• Flexible hours are a must.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONIBILITIES

JOB DUTIES:

• Physical presence in program during all program hours.
• Case oversight and Case Management responsibilities.
• Liaison service provider and childcare school intervention provider for assigned families.
• Training, administrative activities, evaluation and program development for RIP program.
• Works directly with children and families in the program to ensure that treatment objectives, evaluations and treatment summaries are individualized and accurate.
• Meet with members of treatment team to discuss plans and individualized treatment modalities. Work with other RIP staff to develop appropriate treatment activities.
• Implementation and/or supervision of data collection and analysis.
• Intake interviews.
• Operate program in the absence of the RIP Coordinator.
• Community information activities.
• Coordinate with RIP Coordinator and with state Technical Assistant.
• Other duties as requested.

COMPENSATION:

• Starting salary for this position is approximately $17.68 /hr based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule:

• An essential job function is a reliable, predictable 40 hours per week job, on site and in the community, with regular attendance.
• Job does require a non-traditional work schedule as program runs into evening hours.
• Requires flexibility in scheduling.
• This position requires Tenncare productivity and must meet the monthly standard of that productivity by providing individual or family therapy to RIP families or other avenues.

Travel :

• Pre-Service training for professional staff shall take place at the RIP Nashville facility in Nashville, TN.
• Successful completion of twenty-four (24) training days is required for new RIP staff before commencement of the local RIP Program operation, sixteen (16) days at the RIP-Nashville facility, and the remainder on-site under the direction of the RIP-TA.
• Training times and requirements should be discussed with the state technical assistance staff at the RIP Nashville facility.
• Limited waivers to allow current Coordinator to do some on-site training of staff may be granted by the RIP TA.
• Documentation of on-site training must be provided to the RIP TA.
• May have to travel within the community for marketing purposes, liaison services or childcare school interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS - Regional Intervention Program Bachelor's Resource Consultant

Experience / Knowledge:

• Minimum of two years' experience working with preschool children and/or families.
• Some training and supervisory experience helpful but not required.

Education / License :

• The minimum requirement for the professional position is a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related field, with substantial (1-2 years) applicable experience in these fields or a related field.

Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:

• Must be comfortable with and have excellent skills in public speaking.
• Must have excellent computer skills. Ability to effectively and ethically counsel children and families.
• Ability to present professionally and work within a team format to plan, implement, and evaluate successful interventions.
• Ability to work within a team format to meet positive goals for children and interface with other agencies involved in the ecology of the family.
• Must be capable of assisting in utilizing nonviolent methods of crisis intervention including therapeutic holding.
• Must have mental ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure and effective decision-making skills, ability to set and demonstrate appropriate boundaries, ability to be an empathic listener, flexibility, willingness, and adaptability to working with diverse populations.
• Must also have the ability to communicate effectively and possess good time management and organizational skills.
• Must be computer literate and have ability to communicate effectively (oral and written communication).
• Hearing of normal and soft tones.
• Close eye work.
• Valid driver's license and current car insurance.
• Lifting up to 50lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
