SAFETY OFFICER

Under the direction of the Environmental, Health and Safety Director, the Safety Officer (SO) will support as directed in monitoring the safety of multiple construction projects and assist in ensuring employees are following safety protocols. This is an entry level position and a good opportunity for growth, advancement, and potentially a long-term career for the right person. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in ensuring that the company safety and storm water pollution programs are compliance with all governing regulations. 
2. Assist in tracking of individual employee conformance with company policies and procedures related to safety and storm water pollution. 
3. Assist in monitoring safety and storm water compliance by our subcontractors. 
4. Prepare regular safety and storm water compliance reports.
5. Assist field personnel during any accidents, OSHA inspections or related regulatory issues to confirm proper protocols are followed.
6. Assist with the tracking and delivery of supplies and equipment for field personnel.
7. Assist with Safety training of employees.
8. Responsible for any admin support in the Safety Dept.
9. Review risks and recommend any changes to regular activities regarding health and safety. 
10. Assist with safety and facilities maintenance/management in corporate offices.
11. Work with other staff to collaborate with various departments and team members.

Skills and Educational Requirements:

1. Minimum two years experience in regulating safety of a commercial construction company strongly preferred.
2. General understanding of Federal and State OSHA guidelines and safety regulations.
3. General understanding of Storm Water Pollution for construction preferred.
4. Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED preferred.
5. General computer skills, including experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Working Conditions:

1. This position is based at the company's main office in Rocklin, CA. and is generally assigned to a Monday through Friday workweek between the hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm.
2. This position is classified as non-exempt and subject to federal and/or state overtime regulations and will be compensated for overtime hours worked in accordance with the law.
3. This position requires frequent (minimum weekly) visits to construction jobsites. Physical conditions at jobsites are varied. When visiting jobsites, one should expect a lot of walking, often on uneven surfaces.
4. Must be compliant with the Company Substance Abuse Policy.
5. Must adhere to all applicable Company Policy and Procedures.
6. Must adhere to Company Injury & Illness Prevention Plan.
