ABOUT THE POSITION

The Columbia Sales team partners with external partners (from wholesale key accounts to independent boutiques) and internal teams including Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, and Product to understand consumer needs and market realities, as well as how our products fit into that landscape. The Sales team’s business acumen and strategy expertise foster strong partnerships and results. This role leads that team and process. As the Director of Strategic Accounts, you will focus on Columbia Sportswear’s Bass Pro Shop/Cabela’s, Famous Footwear, and Shoe Carnival accounts. You will develop and execute strategic plans aligned with company objectives to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities include strengthening existing executive-level client relationships and developing new business opportunities within these accounts, while driving strategy and growth with your sales team and cross-functional partners.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Create a coaching culture to empower the sales team for success and goal achievement. Identify and implement business strategies to achieve objectives such as account retention, revenue growth, and market share expansion. Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity; provide feedback to sales leadership and partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish support, channel, and partner programs, enhancing go-to-market strategies. Foster a high-performance culture, innovative thinking, and an enterprise mindset. Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.

YOU ARE

Effective communicator in both small and large group settings. A strategic thinker capable of managing details. Persuasive, influential, and skilled in negotiation. An experienced team leader, organizer, and motivator. Proficient in analyzing market conditions and responding with appropriate strategies. Analytical with strong problem-solving skills.

YOU HAVE

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Over 10 years of successful sales experience, including team development, key account management, and closing strategic deals. Previous experience in the apparel industry is strongly preferred. Experience working within a matrixed organization. Strong financial and business acumen.
