Job Description

Join to apply for the Senior Director, Email Marketing role at Docusign

Company Overview
Docusign brings agreements to life. Over 1.5 million customers and more than a billion people in over 180 countries use Docusign solutions to accelerate the process of doing business and simplify people’s lives. With intelligent agreement management, Docusign unleashes business-critical data that is trapped inside of documents. Until now, these were disconnected from business systems of record, costing businesses time, money, and opportunity. Using Docusign’s Intelligent Agreement Management platform, companies can create, commit, and manage agreements with solutions created by the #1 company in e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM).

What you'll do

As the Senior Director of Email Operations, you’ll lead and evolve a global 14-person team managing one of our most critical channels: email. This role is a transformation mandate — modernize our email platform, drive innovation in personalization, orchestration, and process to reimagine customer engagement across their journey.

You’ll own the strategy and operations behind our email ecosystem — from audience management and analytics to governance, in-product communications, and cross-channel integration. You’ll partner with teams across lifecycle, regional, and product marketing to deliver high-impact campaigns rooted in data, powered by automation, and built for scale.

This is a high-visibility role with significant upside: we are committed to improving the foundation, and your visionary leadership will unlock the full potential of our email initiatives. Join us in transforming how email drives impact at scale.

This position reports to the Vice President, GTM Channels & Campaigns.

Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a high-performing 14-person team across email operations, product communication, audience management, analytics, and governance.
- Drive evolution of email analytics tools, performance measurement, and campaign optimization strategies.
- Act as a strategic partner to marketing teams to deliver value through owned channels.
- Collaborate with Martech, IT, and data teams to enhance infrastructure and enable smarter, personalized communication.
- Improve customer-centric messaging through experimentation, process improvements, and tighter Martech integration.
- Influence stakeholders effectively without direct authority, building trust and credibility.
- Be regarded as a trusted advisor by stakeholders, evidenced through feedback.

Job Designation
Hybrid: Employees split their time between in-office and remote work, with at least 2 days/week in-office.

What you bring
- 15+ years of experience in email marketing or marketing operations.
- 8+ years of experience leading teams, including managing managers and global stakeholders.

Preferred
- Deep expertise in marketing ecosystems.
- Proven track record of scaling and transforming marketing operations, especially email and owned channels.
- Strong understanding of CDPs, orchestration tools, and analytics platforms.
- Curious, collaborative, business-minded partner capable of navigating across teams.
- Visionary leader comfortable in ambiguity, fast-paced environments, and talent development.

Wage Transparency
Pay ranges vary by location; for California, the range is $202,800 - $327,625 base salary.

This role is also eligible for bonuses and RSUs.

Benefits include paid time off, parental leave, health plans, retirement plans, learning opportunities, and compassionate leave.

Life at Docusign
We are committed to diversity, trust, and making the world more agreeable for all. We foster an inclusive environment where everyone can succeed and contribute meaningfully.

Accommodation
We provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities or religious needs. Contact accommodations@docusign.com for assistance.

Privacy and Legal
This position is not eligible in certain states. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing diversity and inclusion.
