Role: Senior Mainframe Developer (IMS DB and IMS DC)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced developer with a strong background in IMS DC IMS DB and MicroFocus COBOL. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 14 years of experience and will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable solutions that align with our business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical and domain-specific requirements to drive innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of complex architectures using IMS DC IMS DB and MicroFocus COBOL.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team to ensure best practices are followed.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements translating them into technical specifications.
Ensure the scalability performance and security of the systems by conducting regular reviews and optimizations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all architectural designs and implementations.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code standards.
Identify and mitigate potential risks in the architecture and implementation phases.
Participate in project planning and management to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
Coordination with Offshore team
Qualifications
Possess a minimum of 8-14 years of experience in IMS DC IMS DB and MicroFocus COBOL.
Needed skills: COBOL JCL IT Service Management IBM Mainframe Utilities
Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
Showcase excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively convey technical concepts.
Have a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects.
Display a proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
