As a Teaching Assistant working in our life-skills (FLAME) program, you will work alongside the classroom teacher to support each child's individual instructional plan and accompany the class off-site 4-5 days a week as they work in the community. On campus, the Teaching Assistant assists the teacher throughout the day with differentiated instruction and one-on-one student support. The typical hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 9AM - 3PM on all school days.
This position may, at times, be responsible for driving students in the school's 15-passenger van.
The Teaching Assistant will deliver supportive instruction aligning to the student's instructional plan, collect data, observe students responses, and work closely with assigned students in small-groups and/or one-on-one. Training is provided in advance of the school year to ensure Teaching Assistants are equipped with the tools and skills necessary to excel in this position.
