Frontline Applicant Tracking - Glendive Public Schools Date Posted: 5/1/2025 Location: Jefferson Elementary School Date Available: 25-26 School Year Position Purpose :Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Completion of at least two years of study at an institute of higher education; obtain an associate or higher degree or meet a rigorous standard of quality; or can demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment the knowledge of and ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and math. Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those who may be at risk academically

REQUIRED SKILLS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Title I Paraeducator will assist the Title I teacher instructing supplemental reading and math to K-5th graders. Title IParaeducatorwillassist classroom teachers in their classrooms with providing support in Title I and general education classrooms. Assists instructional personnel with development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises. Monitors and assists students through drill, practice, and study activities following presentation of instructional concepts by instructional personnel. Assists and assumes supervision of students and maintains student discipline. Performs a variety of general clerical duties for instructional staff, such as filing, typing, or duplicating materials. Distributes and accounts for materials such as textbooks, supplies, and equipment; collects, assembles, catalogs, and distributes resource materials. Assists in maintaining a variety of reports and records. Assists in maintaining a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment. Assists in scoring tests, and recording grades. May be called upon to assist in parent conferences Identifies, corrects or reports conditions which could be a threat to student welfare and safety on school property. Each candidate will have an opportunity to participate in a short pre-prepared lesson from the Title I teacher. This lesson will be with a small group of students and will give the candidate an opportunity to know what this job will require from them. Other functions may be required as given or assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand; twist at neck, bend at waist; kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear conversations in quiet environments. May be required to lift or move up to 20 pounds. MENTAL/MOTOR DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee often performs routine work. The employee frequently exercises flexibility (ability to shift from one task to another). Guidance and reinforcement are infrequently available. The employee frequently works within time constraints and needs to maintain an intense attentiveness to what is going on around him/her. The employee is frequently involved in social interactions which require oral and written communications. EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, calculator, copier, telephone/voice mail, fax, central phone system. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside but may be assigned to outside activities. Will be required to withstand temperature conditions ranging from 0°F to 100°F. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Non-professional Personnel.
