Description
Position Summary: This role creates and develops marketing materials for all digital efforts including websites, e-commerce, social media, and email platforms, and is responsible for delivering effective and innovative digital graphics, emails, ads and interactive publications. In collaboration with the Communications department and IT teams, this position will design and develop digital communications that effectively reflect the objectives and brand identity of Unity while utilizing the digital platforms, tools, and systems in place. Must have the ability to stay organized and meet competing project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience in a corporate or agency setting but might be looking to work remotely in a mission driven organization.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, update, and improve all of Unity’s websites; follow digital best practices including SEO, user experience, layout, information architecture, styling, metadata, titles, text, and images that adhere to Unity brand guidelines.
Design graphics for digital projects and retouch photos as needed in Adobe Creative Suite.
Design and produce complete and accurate content for interactive publications, web pages, emails, social media, and other digital outlets; including formatting and reviewing content, inserting images and files, entering metadata and testing across platforms to deliver a positive user experience.
Design and assist with wireframes, overall navigation flow, and template layout/functionality.
Design and produce mockups and templates for webpages, emails, ads, and other digital projects.
Assist in developing from concept to implementation custom web pages, graphics, and content.
Provide design support to the print design team as needed for social media graphics, banners or other materials.
Manage, organize, and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring all assigned projects are produced on time, accurately, and to specifications. Meet aggressive deadlines and handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adapt quickly to change. Work collaboratively with project managers and stakeholders.
Meet with stakeholders to help conceptualize and implement digital projects for Unity.org and all related websites, email campaigns, and/or social platforms, as needed.
Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adherence to assigned schedule. May work remotely as needed.
Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements and guidelines.
Utilize electronic time management system to input time and attendance and/or request time off
Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in web design or a related field or a minimum of 5 years combined education, training, and experience.
Experience:
Five years’ experience in web design and production with overall knowledge of development and site maintenance best practices, preferably in a corporate or agency environment.
Knowledge of user experience (UX) elements and best practices.
Must be familiar with front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, and experience with responsive web design and practices utilizing the latest UI/UX practices.
Demonstrated experience creating web and application-specific assets including, but not limited to, images, video, icons, animations, and banners.
Knowledge of open-source content management systems (CMS) that allow the creation and maintenance of websites, e.g. Drupal, WordPress, etc.
Email marketing experience: Design and send newsletters, promotional emails, automated campaigns including A/B testing, using various email marketing platforms such as MailChimp and others.
Experience coding mobile friendly email communications with table based/inline CSS layouts.
Working knowledge of social media site design requirements and standards.
Knowledge of responsive design best practices, and experience Q/A testing across multiple platforms and browsers.
Computer and Software Skills: Advanced proficiency on both PC and Macintosh platforms, as well as cross-browser compatibility and integration. Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite.
