We are excited to welcome a Yard Driver  to our Chambersburg, PA team! Join us in our mission to rid the world of rubber waste!

 

Pay Range: $19-$23/hr, based on experience.

 

Job Summary:  The Yard Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers and equipment within the yard to support daily warehouse and transportation operations.  This position ensures trailers are properly staged for loading and unloading, maintains yard organization, and assists with equipment inspections.  The role works closely with warehouse, transportation, and dispatch teams to maintain smooth and timely operations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Safely move, position, and spot trailers within the yard using a yard truck (jockey truck).
• Hook and unhook trailers, chock wheels, and ensure trailers are secure.
• Maintain a trailer log and communicate trailer movements to dispatch, warehouse, or transportation teams.
• Assist with trailer inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Monitor yard conditions, reporting hazards or maintenance needs.
• Support warehouse operations by aligning trailer availability with loading/unloading schedules.
• Follow all safety policies, DOT regulations, and company procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL-A preferred.
• Previous experience as a Yard Driver, Truck Driver, or in a transportation/warehouse role preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a yard truck, tractor, or similar equipment.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Flexible to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as needed.
