Job Description

Are you passionate about providing stellar customer service, particularly to Spanish speaking users, and eager to dive into the dynamic world of library services? We're looking for an enthusiastic Bilingual Library Associate to join our team! In this role, you'll assist patrons with checking out materials, offer basic readers' advisory, answer reference questions, and provide simple computer usage guidance. You’ll also be our tech troubleshooter, helping patrons navigate their devices with ease.

Get creative! You'll have the opportunity to create engaging displays, assist with exciting program planning and implementation, and handle data entry. You’ll manage AV materials, ensuring they’re clean and in tip-top shape, and you'll even help with our book sale/donations and pulling patron holds.

Job Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent education/experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience working in a library or similar professional setting preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) -- highly proficient in conversational English and Spanish.
  • Highly proficiency in written English.
  • Experience in customer service is a plus.
  • Completion of a background check.

Schedule:

Expect a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts. You’ll need the physical capability to sit, stoop, kneel, walk, reach, push carts, and stand for extended periods. Tasks might involve reaching higher or lower shelves, using a step stool or ladder, and working in an environment with varying lighting, noise levels, dust, and mildew.
