Job Description

St. John's (Hain’s) United Church of Christ, Wernersville, PA is looking for a part time financial administrator, 15-16 hours per week. The right candidate will manage and oversee all aspects of the church finances, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance with regulations and responsible financial stewardship. This role includes assisting with budgeting, payroll preparation, accounting, reporting and coordinating with church leadership and staff. 

Responsibilities  

· Financial record-keeping: maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including donations, disbursements, accounts payable and receivable, prepare payroll reports for payroll service and more. Prepare and present monthly financial reports to and attend consistory meetings.

· Budgeting and Financial Planning: assisting in the creation and monitoring of the church budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources, and preparing financial reports. Manage and review contracts with vendors for cost effectiveness and make recommendations to leadership.

· Accounts payable & receivable: processing invoices, managing accounts payable, and ensuring prompt payments of bills.

· Financial reporting: preparing monthly and annual financial reports as well as reports for audits and other purposes.

· Tax compliance: ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal tax laws and regulations.

· Donor records: maintaining accurate records of contributions, issuing receipts, and communicating with donors.

· Bank reconciliations: reconciling bank statements in QuickBooks to ensure accuracy.

· Coordination: working with church committees and staff to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations. 

Required Skills:

Accounting Skills: QuickBooks and Excel.

Organizational Skills: ability to manage and maintain financial records and processes. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.

Computer Proficiency: QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Outlook and other relevant church software programs.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact with church leadership staff, and donors.

Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve financial issues.

Integrity and Trustworthiness: Safeguard confidential information in a careful and secure manner.
