Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Migration Project Manager to lead complex migration projects from planning to execution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale data center relocations, consolidations, or cloud transitions. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver seamless migrations with minimal downtime.



Migration Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed project plans outlining timelines, budgets, resource needs, and risk management strategies
  • Oversee the end-to-end data center migration process, including infrastructure design, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, vendors, and business units
  • Identify potential risks associated with the migration and develop robust mitigation plans
  • Ensure business continuity by planning for contingency scenarios
  • Provide guidance on technical aspects of the migration, including network, storage, and server configurations
  • Ensure compatibility and performance optimization of hardware and software post-migration
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including network engineers, systems administrators, application owners, and external vendors
  • Facilitate effective communication to ensure project milestones are met on schedule
  • Ensure all migrations adhere to security standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Monitor data integrity and protection during the migration process
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including migration plans, risk assessments, and post-migration evaluations
  • Provide regular status reports to leadership and stakeholders

Migration Project Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on data center migrations
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale, high-stakes migration projects
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
  • ITIL certification
  • Strong understanding of data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
