Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Yard Driver / Hostler Driver in Kyle, TX. This role requires a unique blend of driving within a controlled facility, material handling and warehouse coordination. You will responsible for the safe positioning of trailers/trucks, equipment inspections, and efficient material handling. salary: $20 - $21 per hour

work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

Vehicle Operation & Yard Management

• Operate yard tractors or hostler trucks to transport trailers and shipping containers safely within the facility's yard.
• Position trailers accurately at loading and unloading docks to facilitate warehouse operations.
• Maneuver equipment through tight, on-site spaces to ensure efficient flow of traffic and logistics.
• Maintain yard organization by parking and arranging trailers in designated areas to ensure operational efficiency.

Safety, Inspection & Maintenance

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Ensure equipment condition by keeping trucks clean and confirming they are fully operational before use.
• Adhere to safety protocols strictly, maintaining constant awareness of surroundings in a fast-paced environment.

Material Handling & Physical Tasks

• Load and unload goods from trucks in a safe and efficient manner to support supply chain flow.
• Utilize material-handling equipment , such as pallet jacks and dollies, to move cargo.
• Perform physical lifting , carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds (utilizing a partner for assistance when necessary).

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 30lbs

Skills

• Pallet Jack Operation (2 years of experience is preferred)
• Driver (1 year of experience is required)
