Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.

Project Estimator Position Description: We are seeking a commercial drywall estimator for steel studs, drywall, and taping.  The position would be within our Walls & Ceilings team.

Project Estimator Principal Responsibilities:

• Perform takeoffs based on architectural and structural drawings and specifications
• Evaluate project information and calculate costs after comprehending job specific material quantities, labor rates, and productivity rates
• Evaluate project information to finalize a bid to general contractors and end users after calculating costs, material quantities, labor, and productivity rates
• Source and develop relationships with general contractors, commercial customers, and architects

Other Duties As Assigned:Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business.

Experience/Education Required:

• Experience installing drywall, steel studs, and acoustical ceilings is preferred, but not required
• Ability to quickly learn how to read a spec and finish schedule and transfer it to a competitive bid
• Must be proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
• On Center Software, and Quick Bid knowledge preferred, but not required
• Associate degree in construction, architectural design or other related area of focus is preferred, but not required
• Must be organized, have attention to detail, and portray a sense of urgency related to completing duties
