Job Description

High School Pastor/Director

Central Church is looking for a high capacity and collaborative High School Pastor/Director (HSP/D). This person must lead by example with character, competency, and a passion for students. At the heart of Student Central is a commitment to LifeGroups, and this role will be responsible for equipping, encouraging, recruiting, and retaining a team of 200+ adult volunteers in partnership with the student ministry team. This person will collaborate with the other student ministry pastors by providing fresh eyes for "what could be" or "what if" for student ministry. The HSP/D should have strong relational abilities with students and adult leaders. Lastly, this person will work closely with our current high school pastor to lead our high school leaders and students at an exceptional level.

This is a full-time position that qualifies for benefits. The HSP/D will serve as part of the Student Central Team and will serve under the supervision of the Student Ministries Pastor.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead a volunteer team structure that requires clear communication, encouragement, training, and appreciation.
  • Work collaboratively with our current student pastors to plan and execute biblically accurate, creative, meaningful, and high-energy Wednesday nights.
  • Assist in creating weekly LifeGroup curriculum and guides for leaders.
  • Collaborate in creating and managing a student ministry calendar.
  • Lead summer activities and trips.
  • Demonstrate ongoing growth by exemplifying Central's "humble, hungry, and smart" leadership model.
Qualifications
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, and staff values of Central.
  • A desire for teenagers to grow closer to Jesus.
  • At least 2 years of related experience with students or church ministry.
  • Ministry or work experience in a multi-staff environment.
  • Ability to teach students.
  • Competency in Google Workspace, church database and other related applications.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in team environments.
  • Multi-tasking abilities, strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop and train a large team of volunteers.
  • Willingness to step into uncomfortable moments and conversations with students, leaders, and parents.
