We are looking to hire for several positions for our South County (Mt. Shasta) Client: positions we are looking to fill are a general clerk, checker and bakery deli clerk for our client located in Weed, Ca.

 

Job Description General Clerk: 

Facing shelves throughout the store. Receiving freight, unload boxes from pallets,
move boxes to aisles using hand trucks. Cut off top of boxes and stock contents to
shelves. Worker will sweep, mop and do general cleaning as needed. Occasionally
check groceries at check stand by scanning items, remove groceries from belt/carts.
Bag groceries, help customers to their cars. Accept payments and make change.

 

Job Description Checker: 

Removes groceries from carts, conveyor belt, scans for price or places on scale to
weigh, bags orders, accepts payment and makes change. Occasionally will assist
customer to vehicle with groceries and load groceries into vehicle. Also face
shelves, sweep floor or clean around check stand area.

 

Job Description Bakery/Deli Clerk: 

Obtains requested Deli or Bakery items for customers, wraps or packages items, uses cash register to total order, accepts payment and makes change. While working in Deli, will fry chicken, jo jo's, burritos, put chicken on rotisserie in oven for baking. Also makes sandwiches, salads, pizzas, popcorn, cotton candy, slice meats or cheese on a slicer. While working in Bakery will slice bread and package bakery products. Also stocks and cleans Deli/Bakery areas as needed.

Duties and responsibilities

• Use of fingers, hands, arms and legs when facing shelves, receiving freight,
unloading pallets, stocking merchandise to shelves.
• Use of hand truck, dolly, box knife, pallet jack, four wheel and 6 wheel carts
when stocking freight.
• Continuous lifting of 1 lb to 25 lbs.
• Sweeping, mopping and general cleaning.
• Continuous standing for 7 to 8 hours.

• Use a 10 key, and basic math.

• Use of intercom or telephone.

• Use good suggestive selling techniques to educate customer to products in Bakery and Deli.
• Locate products for customers, prepare to desired request, price, label and package product.
• Cook chicken, burritos and other hot foods, make sandwiches, salads, pizzas, popcorn, cotton candy.
• Slice meats, cheeses, ladle salads out, obtain doughnuts, pastry, cakes from cases for customer.
• Use store intercom to alert customers of Bakery/Deli products.
• Keep work stations clean and sanitary.
• Restock products as needed and garnish as needed.
• Receive money and make change.

 

Schedule will vary, pay is $16.50 per hour.
