Responsibilities

• Tax Planning and Advisory : Develop innovative tax strategies for businesses, individuals, and trusts. This is crucial for helping clients maximize savings, navigate complex regulations, and secure long-term financial stability.
• Transactional Support : Oversee tax implications for corporate formations, reorganizations, mergers, and acquisitions. By ensuring deals are structured optimally, you protect clients from unnecessary risk and enhance overall transaction value.
• Client Relationship Management : Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through intricate tax issues. Personalized attention builds trust, fosters loyalty, and ensures the firms reputation for exceptional service.
• Dispute Resolution and Representation : Represent clients in interactions with federal, state, and local tax authorities, including audits and appeals. Effective advocacy can prevent costly litigation and safeguard client interests.
• Research and Analysis : Stay current with ever-changing tax laws and regulations, and draft internal memos or legal briefs. In-depth knowledge and thorough research ensure clients receive accurate advice and proactive solutions.
• Practice Development : Participate in networking events, contribute to thought leadership, and cultivate referral relationships. This helps expand the firms visibility and client base, supporting long-term success for all team members.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar
• 3+ years of experience in sophisticated tax work, ideally handling both planning and controversy matters
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations , with the ability to advise on complex transactions and compliance issues
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills , demonstrating a keen attention to detail in drafting legal memoranda, briefs, and client communications
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities , enabling you to build rapport and deliver clear guidance to clients and colleagues
• Team-oriented mindset , open to collaboration across practice areas to provide holistic legal solutions
• Advanced degree in Taxation (LL.M) or related qualifications (such as CPA experience) is a plus, reflecting your commitment to ongoing professional growth
