Job Description & RequirementsOpportunity:
\nRegistered Nurse - PCU
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
\n• 13-week assignment duration
\n• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
\n• Current patient ratios are 1:5 for PCU (goal is 1:4)
\n• Float as needed to other PCU units and potentially Med Surg
\n• Work on hospitalist unit/general medicine PCU
\n• Care for adults and geriatrics with 20-bed capacity and daily census of 20
\n• Manage patients with pulmonary and medicine related illnesses
\n• Handle chest tubes, IV drips (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low dose dopamine and dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix), trach care
\n• Work with telemetry monitoring (remote telemetry with monitors on units)
\n• Unit can accommodate 2 ventilated patients in chronic trach beds
\n• Manage PICC lines, oxygen modes including CPAP and BiPAP
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Epic experience required
\n• Minimum 1 year of experience required
\n• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week assignment (2 holidays during winter season)
\n• 32 hours of orientation provided
\n• Self-scheduling system
